ABC/HR Version 0.9b, 30 August 2002 Testname: Waiting Listening Test 1R = Sample12\Waiting_mpc.wav 2L = Sample12\Waiting_wma.wav 3L = Sample12\Waiting_anch.wav 4R = Sample12\Waiting_mp4.wav 5R = Sample12\Waiting_ogg.wav 6L = Sample12\Waiting_lame.wav --------------------------------------- General Comments: Ok, on #1 and #5 I really should have done better by chance alone. :-P I use the term flanging to mean a swirly hollow sound (the "waah-waah" effect), but I might be using the wrong term. --------------------------------------- 2L File: Sample12\Waiting_wma.wav 2L Rating: 4.5 2L Comment: Same warbly effect on "I've been" as #6, but very subtle. Couldn't really pick out artifacts anywhere else. --------------------------------------- 3L File: Sample12\Waiting_anch.wav 3L Rating: 2.0 3L Comment: Warblyness in lots of places and some swirlyness around "waiting a long time", and to a lesser degree around all the lyrics. Sorta a hissy flanging type effect. --------------------------------------- 4R File: Sample12\Waiting_mp4.wav 4R Rating: 4.0 4R Comment: Between #2 and #3. Warblyness quite noticeable, but less pronounced than #3. Flanging much less noticeable - pretty much only on "I've been". --------------------------------------- 6L File: Sample12\Waiting_lame.wav 6L Rating: 1.5 6L Comment: Blade? There's a weird tremelo (I think that's the word) in his voice when he says "I've been" at the beginning. Sounds a bit like he's gargling. It's worse where he's singing "all". Also, some flanging. --------------------------------------- ABX Results: Original vs Sample12\Waiting_mpc.wav 2 out of 9, pval = 0.980 Original vs Sample12\Waiting_wma.wav 13 out of 16, pval = 0.011 Original vs Sample12\Waiting_anch.wav 13 out of 14, pval < 0.001 Original vs Sample12\Waiting_mp4.wav 13 out of 16, pval = 0.011 Original vs Sample12\Waiting_ogg.wav 1 out of 5, pval = 0.969 Original vs Sample12\Waiting_lame.wav 10 out of 10, pval < 0.001
